The secondary Art Department at Dade Christian School offers a variety of subjects in the area of visual arts. Students may take an introductory Art 1 course to learn basic drawing and painting skills in a variety of mediums. There is also a second year Art 2 course that instructs students in the elements and principles of Art using different materials and techniques to exercise their creativity. For the serious art student Dade Christian offers an AP Studio Art course in which the student will complete a portfolio in one of three different tracks. We also offer a one semester ceramics course in which the students will learn and practice both wheel thrown and hand building techniques along with glazing and firing procedures. We compete in several Art exhibitions each year in which the students have a chance to display their work in a public setting in the community. Student artwork is also displayed in our hallway throughout the year.
